AYŞE OYMAN-M.ALİ ERTAŞ

İSTANBUL (DİHA) - Actresses Jale Karabekir, Selda Arzuma, Hafize İpek, Ayla Yıldırım, Gülfer Akkaya said that everyone should do what he/she can for peaceful solution of Kurdish problem.

Women attended to forum with topic "We have words to say, have power to solve" organized by DÖKH(Democratic Free Women Movement) in Diyarbakır, denoted that it is time to begin to act for solution and intervention of everyone is crucial.

Actress Jale Karabekir, who is noted that problem should be understood as a problem of all women not only of Kurds, said "I think this problem belongs to all women. It is seen in my represantions I made as a feminist actress. Both women problem and Kurdish problem are consequences of same system". Karabekir who indicated that steps taken for solution are more important than attitudes, listed her suggestions for solution: "Everyone should realize her/his ideas more actively in her/his own area. There should be an organization constituted by small areas. This problem is systematic and there is a systematic oppressing/being oppressed problem. Solutions like changing of constitution are macro-solutions, more than those, I am in the favor of micro-solutions. Hostilty between people with a systematic oppression enforcing with hate is being growed. Everyone should focus on his/her area. Kurdish problem doesn't belong to Kurds only, it is problem os all of us. We can not say that we have nothing to do where patriarchy exists. Not demanding but taking it is important and it is possible by only concerted action".

'Actions should promoted'

Selda Arzuma from the feminist circle said a people participated civil constitution is need, "1980 constitution should fall ito desuetude".

A worker of Yenişehir Municipality Hafize İpek, who stated that negotiation between fighting forces is needed, women can play an important role in stopping wars and an action style about is should be builded up. She underlined that operations should be stopped firstly and added "They are talking about solution at the same time they are bombing the mountains. This is a self-contradiction. A dialogue sholud be created immediately. Fighting forces should come together".

'State should step forward'

Peace Assembly activist Ayla Yıldırım emphasized that problem is a result of monotypist-nationalist-militarist structure which is older than Turkey Republic. Yıldırım said "That's why, my expectations are based on what state should do, not what Kurds will do. I say this with a sincere of being a Georgian who learned to maintain the identity from Kurds. Militarist structure in Turkey means persisting in monotypist and religional persecutionist denial and destruction policy. I see disappearance of this policy as the solution". She noted that another ceasefire period is near to end and in all organizations which are in the favor of peace and labor,as a responsibility, there is a need of discussion about what could be done in their areas.

She argued that a dialogue should be created and continued "Giving meaning to the ceasefire of PKK is required. If we talk about peace then there are two fighting opponents. In this context, when we say the responsibility of opponents, I have nothing to say instead of PKK but I have words to say as a citizen of this country toward the state. You have to declarate the denial and destruction policy off, you have to stop operations, political operations blocking democracy. At that time, at least a period of democratic and mutual dialogue in which deaths are stopped, would start. Today, state is the responsible and who should step forward".

"Set the detainees free, first"

Gülfer Akkaya from feminist circle indicated that she is in doubt about the what is told about solution by President and state-side and added "Because they are talking about peace yet, on the other hand, operations are going on and many men and women are arrested. Before this, they've arrested the children". Akkaya underlined that as women, it is required to say their own words and continued "If the solution process is discussed then there should be a peaceful environment, deaths should stop. Solution doesn't sound logical unless war stopped. Firstly, state should stop operations for this, I think. Political parties, associations, trade unions, women should be mobilized. I think, first requirement is setting the children arrested in demonstrations, women and men who arrested in recent operations free

On the other hand, Eğitim Sen(union of educators) Diyarbakır Women Secretary Adile Gülçiçek noted that mostly women suffer from war and said "When the weapons are not used, a dialogue starts and many things would become open to discuss. It would be time to discuss Kurdish identity and language".

"Claims based on congenital claims"

Nilgün Yurdalan from feminist circle said "All claims of Kurdish people who sound rightful claims and for years, trying to keep doing this unless they are prevented, should be met. All claims, especially motherlanguage, are congenital rights of Kurds. We, women want a eternal peace in where we can express ourselves".
