HEWLER (DİHA) - Creation federal structure is an important development for Kurds was drawn attention and it was emphasized that these gains must be reflected in other countries which Kurds live, in the meeting of Socialist International Kurd Study Group, organized in Federal Kurdistan Region, Suleymaniye. Existence of dialogue beween Kurds, protecting common interests and forming common principles were espoused.
The meeting of Socialist Kurd Study Group, which Predient of Iraq Celal Talabani, General secretary of Socialist International Luiz Ayala and Co-presidents of DTP Ahmet Turk and Aysel Tugluk attended, had ended. According to information handed by Vice Co-president of DTP Nazmi Gur who is in charge of DTP Foreign Affairs, gains of Kurds secured in Iraq were drawn attention. The theme of creation of federal structure in Iraq is a big development for Kurds was emphasized. It is stated that this gains should not be restricted to here and be reflected in other countries which Kurds live. For this, creation of dialogue between Kurds, guarding common interests and forming common principles were adopted. Securing dialogue, colloboration and solidarity within Kurds are emphasized.
' Turkey should develop dialogue with Kurds'
Kurdish problem in Turkey and other running developments has been other theme of the agenda of the meeting. Kurdish problem is seriously being experienced in Turkey is emphasized. Certain steps have been made with process of European Union (EU) was drawn attention, and settling of Kurdish problem in this context was stated. Existence of clashes still in the region was pointed out and it is quoted that this situation affects people negatively. The demand that Turkey have a dialogue with Kurds for solution of problem and to find a peaceful solution to problem was raised. Committee of DTP stated that Socialist Intenational should endeavor more for this problem, and it was quoted that if the political cahnelles were opened to Kurds the clashes would stop and everybody would express themselves in the political arena. The committee of DTP also drew attention that unilateral cease-fire does not mean anything and streesed that both sides should laid down the arms. Also the committee of DTP stated that Kurds of Iraq can assume more active role in solution of the problem.
Assurance for return of people of Maxmur
Maxmur refugee camp and return of people living under hard life conditions to their land was also pointed out in the meeting. All components of the meeting had reached a common agrement that more endeavour must be exerted for return of those living in the camp. Discussions were carried out for conditions of return. It is pointed that still conditions for return was not created and Turkey must make steps for assuring return by compensating damages of people. It is quoted that the return should be realized under the assurance of United Nations, and Socialist Intenational Kurd Study Group should play more active role about this matter.
Problems of Kurds living in Syria and Iran also handled in the meeting. Finding democratic solution of this problem in these countries also emphasized. It was sounded that Socialist International should exert more endeavor for Kurds to secure their rights, and realizing a Kurd Conference was decided.
