Barzani: Kurdish unity, a slap in the face for enemies
DUHOK (DİHA) - The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government Massoud Barzani has said that the power sharing agreement signed by the political parties of Rojava in Duhok was slap in the face for the enemies of the Kurdish people.
The parties signed the agreement today under the supervision of Massoud Barzani. According to the announcement on the Kurdistan Democratic Party's (KDP) website, President Barzani was quoted as telling the parties from Rojava that "The success of the Kurds in one place, is the success of the whole Kurdish nation. We will do everything within our means".
'Agreement is a reply to all those that do not want the Kurds to unify'
Barzani, who said that the agreement in Duhok was "big, valuable and historical", also said that "This agreement is a reply to all those that do not want the Kurds to unify, and who constantly want internal Kurdish relations to be tenuous".
The parties that have been in discussion for the past nine days in Duhok, agreed on an executive political council including members from both TEV-DEM (the Democratic Society Movement of Rojava) and the ENKS (The Syrian Kurds' National Council).
